Save me San Francisco

Since I'm in the zone for 'California dreaming' I thought I'd share a couple of holiday snaps from our last trip to San Francisco. SF is as fabulous as you think it would be...amazing architecture, steep hilly streets, cable cars, the bay, an eclectic mix of characters and an uber-coolness found no where else.

I never did buy one of those paintings (insert sad face).

In North Beach (obviously).

Don't you just love all those bay windows?

I'll take this one!

And the award for the Best View from an Apartment EVER
goes to our friends D & J and Baby I.
Yes, that is Alcatraz!

The Painted Ladies (for the Full House fans).

I'll have to do a post on some of the great treasure I picked up on our last trip. We went to the Alameda Antiques Faire...its the place a Vintage Lovers dreams are made of.

Have a great weekend.

I heart L.A.

Anyone who knows me or my husband would be aware of our love affair with the United States. For Andrew (given up on the cool blog name gig) its all about San Francisco and for me its an L.A. thing. Yep, its smoggy and its gritty but its also larger than life and eclectic and exciting. Its all the things you see in the movies and more. Whenever I'm in L.A. I always get the feeling that you never know what's around the corner or what is going to happen next. I love the feeling of being a part of something bigger and Los Angeles is that place for me.

I love the weather and I love the architecture and I'm crazy for the shopping.

I often find myself 'California Dreaming' and tonight I came across a slice of L.A. Real Estate with my name all over it.

Hey...a girl can dream, right?!

Come follow me...

Excuse me? Can I ask a favour? If you are a reader of my blog and haven't joined my site, via the link down there on the right, can you please do so??? I'm not so techno but to 'follow me' you need to set up an account with Google. It doesn't take long and would be greatly appreciated.

Now, to the fun stuff. Anyone having guests for dinner this weekend? I love a good dinner party and, although I'm not the best cook, I'm all about the table decor.

Below are a couple of snazzy pics to get you inspired for your guests this weekend.

Two things!

If there are two things that I love like crazy it would have to be White China and Open Shelving. I have a bit of both in my kitchen and although neither are always the practical option I still love them anyway.

See below for loveliness...

Okay, so the last image isn't strictly your usual open shelving type arrangement, however, I'd be happy to have this amount of pink deliciousness at my house!!

For the love of flowers

My local Marketplace is the place to be! It is the new IGA grocery store in Greenslopes and we love it. The produce, the store layout and the service are the best. It makes grocery shopping kinda...cool!? One of the things I love to pieces about shopping there is the in-store Florist. I love the 'market' feel and how they present their range and I love love love flowers wrapped in brown paper.

It smells as pretty as it looks!

I may not have that new laundry yet but flowers certainly ease the pain.

Happy Monday

Decor for Monkeys

This morning I find myself looking for inspiration for a little girls room. I am godmother to the sweetest, cutest most squeezable little girl and after her parents purchased a new home her Mummy and I have been talking 'girly bedroom decor'. Anyway, I have been pouring over picture after picture and coming up empty handed. I'm not a fan of the predictable girl decor i.e. pink, butterflies & cupcakes etc. However, what I did find were some fantastic pics for boys rooms!!! I can't help it, I live in Man Land, I'm programmed to seek out all things blue.

Prepare to be inspired...

Love the floors

Red, White & Blue...

Ahhh stripes...

This room belonged to Anna Spiro's son (hence the awesomeness). I love the light fitting.

And who doesn't love a quilt??

So...a girls room. Back to the Drawing Board I guess.

P.S. I have a friend with 2 girls and they have bedrooms to die for. I'll have to ask my friend if I can post some pics. In fact, her entire house is what my dreams are made of. I could move into her kitchen (complete with Butlers Pantry) and happily live there forever. But thats a post for another time.

As promised (to my 3 followers...) I have actioned some photos from around our home. A big thanks to my husband, Whoa Nelly Technical Advisor & Art Director, for taking the photos and making them 'Instagram-Tastic' for me.
